Life in Agia Marina naturally revolves around the sea, long outdoor evenings, swimming, relaxed meals, and the warm rhythm of summer on the island. Days move easily between beach, village life, shaded afternoons, and evenings spent outdoors beneath the Aegean sky.
Getting to Aegina Island
The closest island from Athens.

Aegina is easily reached from the port of Piraeus in Athens.
Two types of ferries connect Athens to the island:
- Conventional ferries (approximately 1h10–1h20)
- High-speed ferries (approximately 35–45 minutes)
During the warmer months, crossings operate frequently throughout the day.
We generally recommend booking ferry tickets in advance during summer weekends and holiday periods.
From May to October you can come directly to Agia Marina Port at least 3 times per day. Oneiro Glico is about 15 min walk from the port.

Reaching Agia Marina
Agia Marina is located on the eastern side of Aegina island and boast the longest sandy beach of the island.
From Aegina Town, the village can be reached by:

- Local bus (Time Table here)
- Rental car or scooter
The drive from Aegina port to Agia Marina takes approximately 20–25 minutes.

The Temple of Aphaia
Perched above the sea among pine trees and ancient stone, the Temple of Aphaia is one of the island’s most remarkable historical sites. Dating back to the 5th century BC, the temple offers sweeping views across the Aegean and a quieter atmosphere than many larger archaeological sites in Greece.
Located only a short drive from Agia Marina, it remains one of the most memorable places to experience the island’s connection between landscape, history, and light.


Agios Nektarios Monastery
The Monastery of Agios Nektarios is one of the most important spiritual sites in Greece and welcomes visitors throughout the year.
